On January 30, 2026, Inner Urge Records released the VMV Trio’s debut album entitled “The Search of Meaning”, a work that marks an important evolution in the group’s artistic journey and confirms their ability to blend technique, emotions, and improvisation into contemporary jazz with great personality. “The Search of Meaning” is a musical journey through the most intimate nuances of the human experience. The melodies of Vincenzo Di Gioia’s alto saxophone intertwine with Marco Cutillo’s guitar phrasing, while Vito Tenzone’s drums drive the dynamics with energy and precision. The piano is played by Vincenzo Di Gioia and Vito Tenzone at selected moments, while keyboards add depth and color, expanding the album’s soundscape and creating immersive environments rich in emotional nuances.
The album cover also reflects this approach: every detail and every mark has been designed as a visual rhythm, with typefaces specially designed to visually convey the messages and emotions of the album, inviting the listener to immerse themselves in the music right from the artwork.

VMV TRIO – BIO
The VMV Trio is a jazz trio formed in Puglia when three talented young musicians came together: Vincenzo Di Gioia (alto saxophone), Marco Cutillo (guitar), and Vito Tenzone (drums). Founded in 2023, the group stands out for its original compositional approach, based mainly on unreleased songs, and for its sound research that blends different influences—from contemporary jazz to film music, from rock to experimental atmospheres—creating a personal sound free from stylistic boundaries.
Their music prioritizes emotion and communicative intensity, transforming every note into language and every solo into dialogue. In 2024, the trio released their debut EP “From Now On” on FDS Records and made a name for themselves in major national jazz competitions: first prize at the Teano Jazz Contest, second place at the Onyx Jazz Contest, and finalists at the Conad Jazz Contest and the Abbazie Jazz Contest.
The members of the trio boast individual awards that confirm their talent and versatility: Marco Cutillo won first prize at the 2013 Igor Stravinsky National Competition and qualified as a finalist for the Massimo Urbani Award; Vito Tenzone won the “Best Soloist” award at the Abbazie Jazz Contest 2024; Vincenzo Di Gioia was a finalist in the Massimo Urbani International Award, winning a scholarship for Nuoro Jazz, and received the Santa Cecilia Award 2019 and the Pierluigi Galluzzi Award 2023.
Despite their young age, VMV Trio is a solid and cohesive project: the three musicians pursue individual paths, but find in the trio a shared identity, a space for collective growth and experimentation. The group’s journey is only just beginning — and already today it sounds like a promise in the contemporary jazz scene: music that combines research, sensitivity, and the ability to communicate stories and emotions.
