“So Close and yet so far” is a song written by Fabrizio Savino and Akiram (stage name of Marika Mastrandrea) and an animated film by the MM Visual Communication Design Studio. “So close and yet so far” address the issue common to many human beings especially during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, proximity and remoteness. The reflection, which began before March 2020, arises from the distorted perception that sometimes human beings live in interpersonal relationships. Often we happen to feel a person “far” and the instant after “close” and present and vice versa. This happens due to misunderstandings, arguments, jealousies, dissatisfactions and fears. Unlike humans, animals do not feel a grudge, have a different memory and are more instinctive. The video animation is set between nature and the city, just to emphasize that in some moments human beings are “too human”, mental and distant from nature from which they came. The city mentioned is Paris, particularly dear to the authors, a place where they lived for short periods and that they often come back to live again because it’s artistically active and stimulating. The video animation was made entirely in analog with the ink on paper technique for the only song arranged and played by the trio of Fabrizio Savino with a string quartet within his latest album “The rising sun” recently released by Inner Urge Records.
